The location of this Casa de Aldea at Misiego is quite simply unbeatable. The house fronts directly on to the stunningly beautiful Ria (Estuary) of Villaviciosa, a protected nature reserve and home to some of the best surfing in Spain.

Being a nature reserve, the area is blissfully not overdeveloped as some other seaside areas can be - the house has open meadows to the rear and sides - and it's a great spot for birdwatching.

Misiego itself has a sheltered, tranquil beach - great for kids to paddle and swim and adults to relax. This coastal enclave is further blessed with a kindly microclimate, so even when winter's depths may afflict other areas Misiego is often spared.

A wooden walkway skirts the ria, leading to the larger and more famous beach of Rodiles. (A 10 minute stroll.) Here there are all facilities (seasonal), - lifeguards, toilets, showers, surfboard hire, picnic benches in the shade of eucalyptus trees and a handful of bar/cafe/restaurants set back from the beach.

The beach itself is a 2 kilometre stretch of golden sand, with rocky limestone cliffs at its eastern end. The surfing here is excellent and world-renowned - the river mouth is for experienced surfers only, but the beach break has plenty of space for beginners.

The Accommodation

A renovated Asturian casona, the house has 5 double bedrooms, all en-suite, a fully-equipped kitchen and lounge. The house can be rented as a whole or by the bedroom, in which case the kitchen & salon are shared.
Externally, there is a lawned area, with garden furniture.
